I’ve tried many different kitty litters over the years, but I think I just found my new favorite. I know, the sponsor will love that, right? But I really mean it. Let me explain why this litter is so much better than what I’ve tried before.
I hate cat pee. I’m actually allergic to it, although I’m not allergic to cats, so cleaning the litter box can be a very unpleasant experience if it triggers my allergies. Smelling it is the worst. Having two cats and two litter boxes, I’m in that situation frequently! Obviously, odor control is very important to me. Weruva® cat litter is unlike anything I’ve tried before, because it uses Hinoki Wood & Green Tea to suppress humidity and the mold and bacteria that causes the worst odors. I was pleased to find that this works really well. The litter is also clay and grain free, meaning it’s less likely to cause allergic reactions for pets either. Corn and wheat, found in other brands, are the main sources of allergies in cats.
In the past, I’ve had a lot of annoyance from litter tracking everywhere. Reilly especially gets a bit over excited in the litter box and kicks it everywhere. While I can’t stop him kicking it, it didn’t stick to his feet as much as other brands and it’s quick clumping, meaning less vacuuming for me! It’s also low dust, so I don’t have a layer of litter dust forming around the litter box. I can’t tell you how much I hate litter dust too!
When switching litter brands, I’m always concerned about the cats making the switch and liking the new brand. Weruva has a natural green tea aroma that I found nice, but I wasn’t sure what my cats would think. This was especially a concern with Eden, who hated the litter boxes at her previous home. Having just recently house broken her, I didn’t want to reverse that! I gave both cats a box of Weruva cat litter, with one back up of the old brand. To my surprise, Eden didn’t hesitate at all! She’s been using it without any problems for a couple weeks now.
Anyone that knows me knows that I’m always looking for the most sustainable and low environmental impact products. Taking care of this planet is very important to me. Weruva uses salvaged by-product wood from other industries, such as the piano and construction industries. They also plant a new tree for every one they use!
Weruva started making high quality cat food so they could create a high standard for their three rescued kitties, Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa (see where the name came from?). The same passion is why they started making cat litter as well. I have to say, I’m impressed.
